Duties:
You will be a vital part of our nationwide virtual primary care practice's virtual daily operations as a full-time virtual medical assistant. Working closely with the clinical and operations teams, you will add to a productive clinical and workplace environment. A "no task is too big or small" mentality, a passion for providing extraordinary patient experiences, and trust-building qualities are characteristics of excellent candidates. Operational Leads, Medical Assistants, and Medical Providers make up our Virtual Care Team. You will help with virtual intake and rooming, care coordination, patient outreach, insurance navigation, and eligibility checks as a member of that care team.
The East Coast-based position is virtual only, and the anticipated availability window is 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST. Working together with medical providers, virtual care teams, and other medical assistants, you will be accountable to the director of virtual care operations in this role. - Collaborate with colleagues, medical professionals, and operations managers to deliver outstanding clinical, operational, and administrative long-term primary care.
- Continue to communicate with important participants in the virtual clinical careteam.
- obtaining external medical records, arranging referrals, conducting pre-, post-, and peri-patient outreach, following up with labs and patients regarding results, and keeping an accurate and current electronic medical record are all steps toward achieving a five-star patient experience.
- Respect AAMA, OSHA, and HIPAA rules and guidelines at all times and show that you understand them.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Utilizing a variety of data sources and clinical tools, compile essential patient health history and help finish charts.
- Help patients with insurance record updates, appointment scheduling, check-in and check-out procedures, consent and intake form completion, and more.
- Execute the following common clinical competencies for medical assistants:
- providing patients with virtual assistance to take, record, and report accurate vital signs
- Getting hold of, recording, and disclosing basic health, social, and family history
- educating patients on subjects like using a glucometer and taking blood pressure
- Organize and preserve insurance reports and medical records.
- Coordinate with other facilities to set up laboratory services, hospital admissions, and any necessary support for the patient's overall care plan.
- Create and disseminate memos, letters, faxes, and forms.
- As needed, carry out additional related tasks.
What you will bring:
- Want to work in a fast-paced startup setting where you can use technology to provide great clinical experiences and work as a team with providers, virtual dyads, and other medical assistants.
- Two or more years of experience working as an operations associate, in a medical office (in person or virtually preferred), or in other clinically related roles.
- two or more years of experience providing clinical and administrative support while working with patients in a medical clinic or a similar environment.
- familiarity with keeping track of patient records and paperwork.
- Medical assistant certifications mandated by the state must be obtained at the time of hiring.
- A practical grasp of HIPAA regulations, medical malpractice, insurance, and medication terminology, as well as informed consent
- zeal for giving patients five-star experiences and outstanding customer service.
- Excellent attention to detail, urgency, and verbal and written communication (via chat, email, and verbal interactions)
- Knowledge of the Google Suite, Apple and iOS devices and operating systems, and current EMRs (Athena is a plus)
- Capacity to work shifts Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST
- Multi-lingual (preferred)

Notes: The base salary range for this role is $49,600 to $54,560 and is determined based on experience, geography, and qualifications. The base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which includes equity, PTO, and other benefits.
This position is salaried, non-exempt with overtime pay eligibility.
